I Developed My Art Making Skills
I developed my art making skills while working on the perspective project by finding new ways to draw perspective. I've always been amazed by perspective and 3D shapes. Before we started perspective even though I liked it I only knew how to turn squares into cubes and other simple shapes. Now I can turn a whole house 3D. A challenge I had while working on this project was shading. Towards the end of the project I started getting better but i'm not nearly as good as I'd like to be but I will just have keep developing my art skills.
I Take Risks
In the perspective project I took many risks. One of my biggest risks though was deciding to draw a house because this would be my first time drawing a house in perspective. This was hard at first because I had to measure everything and draw it in comparison to the real life house. The real house is a famous house and museum called the Margaret Mitchell House and Museum in Atlanta, Georgia. Drawing a famous house was also a risk because a lot of my dad’s side of the family used to live in Georgia and have seen this house. This is a risk because a lot of my dad’s side of the family are big in “constructive criticism” which meant I had to try really hard because they will probably see this drawing.
I Communicate Through My Work
The Margaret Mitchell House is a well-known and famous house in Georgia. By drawing the house I have helped communicate its history through my work. All though it’s not the best drawing I think it’s good enough for people to recognize it if you have seen it before. This house is very old and was built in 1899. Which means it has been through a lot of history which I hope I did a good job of expressing in my work. |
