For my unconventional material sculpture challenge I received three rolls of masking tape. At first I thought it would be a difficult material to come up with an idea and sculpture. I knew I wanted the majority of my sculpture to be out of the material I was given but tape itself is very difficult to sculpt out of. Then I came up with an idea to use the actual rolls of tape for the structure of my sculpture. I used three different sized rolls and stacked them from the biggest as the base and the smallest at the top to get a volcano shape. I then used masking tape to cover the rolls to give it a rocky texture. I then used crayon to fill the inside and melted them using a heat gun. I used red orange and yellow crayons. This gave a look of flowing lava erupting from the volcano. I believe I was successful in making a realistic looking miniature volcano out of my material..
